I have several Teasels in the garden, which i planted for
the birds... The only problem is that it is so hard to keep them supported.. Does anyone have any solutions to
this problem?

I've never seen any that needed supporting. You could always put canes in and tie them?

Our teasels aren't supported

My experience in Northern Arizona tells me that they don't need support unless they have too much shade.

Thanks, for your comments....They do grow fairly tall, i
find they, reach a certain height then they start to topple..I think it is best if they are grown against a fence or wall...I have tried tying them to canes, but they
are quite light being, the insides are hollow....They still
want to topple over...They, are planted in a sunny spot...

Hmm....the entire plant topples over, or the stem breaks at some point, Freesiaperson?

Yes it is the whole plant...Seems quite strange, if nobody else has this problem Tugbrethil...It's as if the
branches are not thick & woody enough to support itself
just like some flowers, which need support...Could it possibly be that, i chopped the original plant down, but
seeing this is self seeding, i left the seeds to grow again
Could this have anything to do with my problem?
Mind you, i do remember now that i had to tie the original up that, toppled too when grown...

Are your teasels getting enough light and water? Ours are tough as old boots and I've never heard of teasels needing support. They are biennials so your chopping down the original plant will not have had any effect.

Toppling could be caused by too much shade--makes the tops too big, and the roots too small--or extraordinarily loose, sandy or mulchy soil, with shallow watering.

Yes, they are Moon growe...They are in sun most of the day...

I have Clay Soil Tugbrethil...Could that be the problem?

Only if it is so dense than the roots are all in the top inch or two of soil.

I had left them to grow where the seed fell....Should i
have taken them out and replanted? So grateful for your
help...I have to solve this problem, if only for the birds &
Wildlife, who i am concerned about Tugbrethil...

There really is no reason to stake a teasel, has something toppled it rather than it toppling ?
