Hi. I'd like to know what happened to the Sambuca Nigra that sprouted green leaves on the upper parts of branches. I just bought one a month ago and am experiencing the same thing. I have been cutting them off. The plant faces west and has no shade at all.
I planted two others two years ago and they get a bit of shade (about 6 hours of sun). One has turned completely green; the other has not but neither has had berries/flowers since I planted them.
Any suggestions?

It could be that you have a bad cultivar. Sometimes seed raised plants aren't as dark leaved as their parents. The wood needs to be a couple of years old to produce flowers/fruit.
