abutilons

i planted abutilons this year. will they overwinter and are there any points to watch if they do? i live on the south coast in devon.

I think it depends on which abutilons you have, Shandydog. I have A. megapotamicum which seems to be hardy here in Cornwall - I have two planted in the ground that were undamaged by last winter. I used to have A. thompsonii and know that that one needs to come indoors, or into a frost proof greenhouse to survive. I've never had one of those that came through a winter outdoors. :-(
