Been looking at the borders photos - are these all members gardens or are some of them of big gardens people have visited? They are so gorgeous

Well they should really be of peoples OWN gardens.
We're showing the skills we have to make our gardens look as good as possible.
I'd like to think that those showing a picture of a visited garden would own up and admit it.

Thank you Louise and Denise, I think I will give up now!!
Can take comfort in the thought that there are lots of members who don't have their photos on - and probably for the same reason as me!

Not sure what the problem is here!
Louise have you actually looked at the borders page in any depth? there are 664 photos and at the last count I think 4 were not actually members OWN gardens?
Hope this answers your last comment too Steragram?

As neither of you have come back on this - I have just looked at this question further!
Steragram you have only posted 4 individual photos since you joined GOY and these are about pest/problems not actual photos of your garden! and 2 of your 3 blogs have been put in Goypeadia and by me I note!!!
Louise you have posted 33 pages of mostly flower photos and some of these are on Goypeadia I found no photos by you of a full border!!! So what is this really about?

Hi Steragram I would just say dont be put off by all the lovely gardens. Some of the members have been on Goy for years. I am a fairly new member trying to rejuvenate a garden that had been neglected until last year. I find other peoples photos and comments are inspiring and cannot wait to make improvements to my own garden. It will never be perfect, the enjoyment is in doing it. So please show us your photos - its all about sharing! and having a bit of fun at the same time.

if any my photos are in this catergory its down to careful camera angles :o) But the majority of the photos are by the owners of the gardens.
I have some lovely plants but little idea of good design I grow what I like and hope it works.

I like this site because it caters for everyone's situation from a single plant pot to acres.

Hi Stera, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so whatever you plant in your garden is there because you like and enjoy it. Dont be despondant, gardens/borders take years to develop. Just enjoy planting up your garden with things that you like, maybe by putting on your photos you could get more advice on what to plant and where.
ps. I have just looked at your photos Stera. your garden as far as i can see (behind the tree) is lovely, lets see some more photos and we can help you.

I never thought this site was about showing skills or being in competition. I thought it was for those who enjoy gardening and we all like different things, in planting, and designed gardens or not as the case may be. I am happy to see any garden both simple and small with few plants or large and full of plants. Most gardens can look good at a given time it is keeping it good all the year round that I think is the challenge!

Well I have added photo's of my back yard...So no one need ever feel inadequate about posting pictures ever again.

I like to think that visited gardens, are also part of this website..and I have done quite a few,but would never try and pass any off as mine.I always state where they are,and judging from favourable comments,I will continue to do so..They often give us ideas to try in our own gardens, whatever the size..Keep at it,Steragram..as long as you enjoy it,that's all that matters..:o).Not many of us have picture perfect ones, but it doesn't mean we don't want to see them.....

I am still at a loss as to understanding this thread as there are well over 600 photos of members gardens on this page alone and they vary enormously from the very big borders to the very small. I think members are rightly very proud of their own efforts to want to claim someone elses garden as their own and I have never come across it on here.

Umm ...my gardens are based in Sheringham. They are the municipal gardens ,putting green and memorial gardens...and one tiny piece outside the Toilet/TIC.
I was hoping they may get added but it seems they may be classed as Parks and Gardens.

I have added my backyard .. It has runner beans in a foot high bed with potatoes in a grow bag to help retain moisture in front
and a selection of plants damaged in transit prior to planting out at Sheringham that would have been dumped

Sorry to have missed a couple of days - had family staying. Goodness I seem to have started something here! Its just that I was so overwhelmed by the beauty of all the photos I just wanted to make sure that they really all were members own gardens - and am so impressed to hear that they are. I haven't posted many photos for two reasons - first,I get so absorbed looking at the questions and blogs that there never seems to be time, and second because I haven't felt my pics are anything like as good as the others. (I'm a lot better at knowing what I ought to do than actually doing it!) Anyway I will put a few on in the next day or two, and include some of new beds I'm making. Denise, I didn't know any of my blogs had been put in Goypedia . I haven't found it yet (probably because I haven't looked for it I confess!)
Anyway, thank you so much to everyone who was so encouraging and apologies to anyone who thought I was suggesting they were passing off other gardens as theirs - that wasn't what I meant at all. :) ?

I for one, never thought you meant that,Steragram..but I understand your reason for not showing more of yours,on the first reason you gave...I agree,by the time you have read blogs, and seen pics..it's bedtime !,but you shouldn't put yourself down about your own..it is nothing to do with not .being better than others..we enjoy seeing everyone's pics..that is why it takes us all so long to get through them all! Lol...so get out there with your camera..and start clicking !..just get up earlier..:o)))..Lol.

Hi Steragram glad you are reassured the photos are genuine members gardens. We would love to see your garden and new beds its very interesting and can be quite inspiring to see other ways of doing things. SBG is right about camera angles I always think mine looks better in photos than it actually is.

OK then - just wait until it stops raining... But Bloomer, what's "getting up early"? I've heard of it before...
5 Sep, 2011
Lol,Steragram...OK then..about lunchtime early enough? :o)
5 Sep, 2011
Yup - think I can manage that, lol.

you might be a while,Steragram..is this rain ever going to stop, this week? ..you are allowed to stay in bed till teatime,if you so wish..only till it clears up,and then it's back to lunchtime ! Lol.

Went out today (after lunchtime) and did some work on my new bed.(No, I mean the one in the garden...) Will do a blog on it soon.

Well - most of my pictures are of someone else's gardens or public spaces - as I am constantly moving... but I always state where the picture was taken - or simply saying it's not from my garden. But the idea is to show a nice plant with the name or some ideas people my like and use in their gardens. Or inspire to go to see a garden worth visiting.
I am glad you posted some of your pics already - looking forward to see more:)

Hi Steragram I edit Border ideas they are almost all from members gardens and indeed they are gorgeous, with just a very few from places members have visited and they would say where taken. The idea is to show borders that members can take ideas from for their own gardens or like you and me just to be enjoyed when browsing through Goypeadia.
