Bargains

Dorset, United Kingdom

As we're all thrifty gardeners, what's the best bargain you've bought for your garden recently - doesn't necessarily have to be a plant, it can be ANYTHING you are putting outside in your garden?

44 pallets, which we got for nothing - just had to buy some wire to tie them together. Made three compost areas, a bark enclosure and several enclosures for pots and other garden paraphernalia.

Three 13 foot planks that were warped - a builders merchant gave them to us and we made two raised beds - just had to buy some screws and some wood for uprights.

50p Red Robins from Focus and also loads of bulbs at the end of December - cost 10p a bag and got 15% discount off them, too.

I wish I DID get bargains, Greenfingers, I'm not very good at finding them. :-(

I suppose the best one was last autumn when I got two Skimmias for the price of one...they are still doing well and giving me pleasure.

Well, it's nice to see some bargain hunters out there - I love getting a bargain and making the most of it. Keep your eyes peeled and pick up a bargain before someone else beats you to it.
