I grew some Cosmos from seed last year and they did really well ...probably very easy to grow but I'm new to growing stuff from seed so felt very pleased ! Can I collect seeds from the flowers and grow them on for next year ?

I did the same last year and thought that they would self-seed but they didn't. I was disappointed not to have any cosmos this year. So, yes, you'll need to store them to sprinkle next year.

Yes of course - collect the seeds from the flower heads and store them over winter. I've been collecting them for a few weeks now.
