I planted Hydrangeas for the first time this spring. They did well from the start and actually grew in height about 8 inches or so. One of them even started to develop a bloom on top and then all of the sudden, all six of them died. Will there be any possibility that they may regrow next year...since they are perenials?

Hang fire before you take them out, have seen this happen with hydrageas on many occaisions, keep them watered and next spring they may re shoot, if so then feed and keep well watered.

About where in the country are you, Donnie, and when did they go down? Were they in pots or in the ground? Any noteworthy events just before they went--i.e., you went on vacation, they are on automatic watering, and there was a thunderstorm, they live off rainwater, and there was a drought, etc.?

How disappointing for you. There isn't much chance of them recovering by the sound of it. They need lots of water especially when newly planted - perhaps they were too dry.
