Can anyone id this perennial geranium for me. It sems to flower year round off and on. The flowers are a lovely shade of pink with a white centre. They are a bit scruffy looking but in the summer months there are plenty of flowers so I am persuaded not to get rid of it.

Isn't it unusual? Looks like good ground cover. If you are throwing any out please remember me!

I'd need to see a flower close up to be sure, but it looks like either G. x oxonianum 'Southcombe Star' or G. x oxonianum 'Thurstonianum' from here, Scotsgran.

'Southcombe Star' flowers are almost double, 'Thurstonianum' are single. Over to you! ;-)

I've got some 'pink geraniums' in my back garden which look like these but are quite a bit taller. I find as they are self seeding they are becoming very invasive and keep appearing all over, even in pots. In fact, I'm so fed up with them I'm now starting digging them out and putting them in the bin!

I was given one like this that was called "Julie Brennan". I found it was a fearful spreader.

Thank you all for your prompt replies. You are stars. It is a good ground cover but not a spreader like Jenny Brennan which seems to pop up everywhere. I do weed JB out where I find it has self seeded. I like it because it does not get too tall. It is only half the height of this one and thanks to Spritz I can tell you it is indeed G. x oxonianum Thurstonianum. I like it better now I know its name. I will advise on whether there are rooted bits I can send you Steragram. I bought both of these at rallies. The stall holders are selling radio amateur equipment and their wives bring along plants to sell. They do not always know what it is they are offering but can usually describe how they grow - vigour - flower colour etc.

Thank you Scotsgran! Look forward to hearing from you.

You're very welcome, Scotsgran. Glad I was able to help. :-)

There are roots available Steragram and I will pot some up in the garden in case they do not grow for you. I managed to get Roxanne which will be a better colour contrast with my red hot pokers. PM me your address if you still want some. I can hold on to them until you are ready as long as I know you do want them.
