Hi....I hope you can help me again with an identification of a what I think is a Stipa. I was told it was called Nile Grass,but when I called up a photo of Nile Grass, it was nothing like it!! I love the way it produces the sort of rounded shape,and I love grasses for their movement. It self seeds if I let it,but I do not let it get out of hand.

Actually, I think that they are the flowers of this reed, gran, rather than seed heads. Still, very attractive.

Yes you are right they are the flower head,they are produced about this time of the year and will last most of the winter. I will try to find more on the internet now,I have a lead. Thnaks

Oh you clever clever person Tugbrethil,thats the one exactly. I did try to find it on the internet once I had a clue,but was surprised that there are so many different types. So Thank you again,I always think its so much better to be able to identify and name a plant.

Not Nile Grass, close, but a papyrus plant. Look this up on the internet and you might be able to identify which one.
