Morning... up early to watch the Irish game.....
Any advice please...I have about 30 blocks of York Stone all about the size of a Breeeze Block...I would like to build a small Rockery (old fashioned or not)....
Do these need to be cemented in or just laid together and filled with earth....
What type of plants go in Rockeries....evergreen if possible....
thanks so much

Ideally rockeries should look like natural rock strata, so using oblong blocks might make this rather difficult. Had you thought about making a raised bed with them instead?
It would look good filled with a peat based compost and planted with heathers for example.

Or filled with a fast-draining mix and planted with Lavenders, herbs, minor bulbs, and other things that like dryish soil.
