I have a piece of my small garden that is approx 6ft x 7ft
half in sunlight and half in partial shade. The soil is limey but has been well dug and fed. Can anyone advise me of any veggies I can plant there at this time of year. I have just dug up carrots and beetroot from this area and I would like to use this ground again before planting next season. I am not an experienced gardener so I would appreciate some advice.

You could try spring cabbages. Cabbages like limey soil. Buy plants from a nursery. Or overwintering Japanese onion sets or garlic in the sunniest part. Swiss Chard is fine in part shade and will grow through winter, again, buy plants as it's getting late for seed.
