I planted my spring cabbage plants in early september, they are now 12 inches high they are in a raised bed covered with an insect proof netting over a hoop 40 inches high. Will this be any detriment to the cabbages by planting them this early.

Your spring cabbage will be well protected and may develop early.

I grew mine from seed in trays in the greenhouse and potted them on and finally set them in the garden a couple of weeks ago, I think this is the right time for them to go out. Wish mine were as well protected as yours .... from pigeons.

Hi Bob, hope you're OK. :)
