Mystery Plant (again)

Hi folks - I'm still trying to work out what this plant is. It definately is not Photinia x f. 'Red Robin', which is a plant I know well. I attach a closeup of the leaves and you can see it is variegated. Poppy suggested it might be P. davidiana. I have looked up this plant and I hope it is this as it is a pretty shrub, but in the pictures the leaves are more pointy at the tip than my plant. Any further ideas?

"Robusta" is another cultivar of Photinia, I havent got a picture of that so it is a shot in the dark. I think Andrewr is right about the leaves, they do look as if they ought to be deep, glossy green.

It isn't P.davidiana 'Palette' which has cream, red and green patterns on its leaves. Sorry, but I still think it looks like a P.'Red Robin' in a bad way! P 'Robusta' grows into a small tree eventually - so maybe you'd better plant it and see how big it gets! lol.

Sorry, Sid. I have to go with Photinia too.

Oh dear....I was hoping it would be P. d. 'Palette' or something similar. Sorry, Andrew, but I have to disagree with you over the variagation - the white markings are most definately variagation, not dead tissue. It does appear on other leaves, but this one was the biggest and most easy to photograph leaf. I guess I'm just going to have to plant it and see what it develops into! I will keep you posted as it develops. Thanks for all the suggestions. Sid.

That looks more like dead tissue in the leaf due to its being starved. If it was variegated, the pattern would be over most, if not all, the leaf and all leaves would have it.
