Is it usual for established delphiniums to flower twice in the same season?

cheers Bamboo...yeah tell me about it, & snow forecast later this month, though we're wilting in tropical temps at the mo! Saw a foxglove in full bloom in the same bed as the delph' thinking about it,no wonder everythings so confused.

Snow?! In October? Where'd you see that forecast - or do you mean in Scotland?

Thats what i thought Bamboo! From a reliable source though. Cant imagine it on a day like today can you? Had January conditions in October last year too though. Many thought trees & shrubs had died from the look of the leaves, but it was because the autumn fall was only part way through when the severe frost struck,& leaves were just left in situ, dead & unsightly...most til new spring buds pushed them off. Made it a long clearing up season!

What source though? Exactaweather doesn't specify when it starts, but gives the impression it'll be November, not October.

I don't know about usual, but it does happen sometimes - and this year, its no surprise, the weather's been so topsy turvy - spring bulbs are trying to come up, fruit trees are flowering now...
