Need advice! I'd like to have a small plant in my kitchen. The problem is that it's a north window and no sun shine on that side. Maybe there's something that will like it. Thanks for your help!

Tolmiea menziesii, common name Piggyback Plant, should do the job. Hardy outside in the UK as well, not sure about where you are though Annyshka.

Some of the dark green forms of Chinese Evergreen (Aglaonema) are good for this, and also some of the smaller forms of Mother-in-Law's Tongue (Sanseveria). Both like to dry out well between soakings.

If you have room,an orchid would grow well in a north facing window,as they don't like direct sunlight..unless of course, you would prefer a foliage plant,as suggested above..

For orchids, though, it should be an open north exposure--no patio or porch coverings--and right in the window, since they need very bright, indirect light. The two that I mentioned should be able to sit on the kitchen table or counter, with an open north exposure.
