I have a variety of spring bulbs to plant but can only put them in pots do I have to bubble wrap the pots for winter? thankyou :)

As bulbs are very hardy I would not bubble wrap pots. I never do, if they were in the ground they would get anything and everything the weather throws at them Kate. Hope you have a brilliant display in Spring.

I put bulbs in baskets and pots and have good results. But they will get much colder in pots than in the ground, if you make sure the pots are frost proof and sheltered they should be fine. Tulips like the cold anyway.

thankyou both for that:) Ooh that sounds a nice idea bulbs in baskets Drc..what would you put in a basket? I always think a basket should be like a cascade how would you achieve that with bulbs?

A cascade is more for the summer baskets when you get lots of growth, but I use Ivy round the sides to achieve that look.
Spring bulbs such as Lillies, Narcissus, Chinodoxia, Tulips, Crocus all came in minature forms and flower consecutive months starting with Snowdrops.
These I put in between the Pansies/Violas, Primulas and can look good all winter if you choose a mixture of plants/bulbs. Use new compost but there is no need to feed till the spring and water sparingly in winter if at all!
