I live in York. We have a golden leylandi hedge along the front and side of our garden and it has been there for about 15/20 years. This year the inside of both hedges has gone brown in parts. Is there anything which can be done to bring back these parts of the hedges to their natural colour

I'm sorry to hear that - and to tell you that there isn't anything you can do. I'm in the same situation in my garden. Our 12' high leylandii hedge, probably the same age as yours is also going brown. I'm intending to plant ivy at the base and try to cover the brown section a bit.
