I have found that a lot of bulbs will break through membrane (Daffs and Crocus esp - also Couch Grass seems to grow through it or on it!), but that is luck. The answer is not to plant bulbs under membrane.

Weed suppressant means just that NP, it will only suppress/reduce the perennials weeds but it will not kill them unless left undisturbed for several years because of lack of light. I love the stuff but have learnt the secret is to clear the site of perennial weeds/plants before laying it to reduce the risk of reappearance.

ow i know that drc but ive never had weeds/plants pushing threw it myself and i think its commen sense to get your garden nice and flat and dug over . also you generaly need to dig a couple of inches of soil out anyway for the mulch to sit on without running everywear else . thats all my friend .

no they wont break through. if you know where they are going to be you can cut holes in the membrane to let them through.
