growing trailing sweet peas

I've been given some seed pods today, has anyone had any success in growing trailing sweet peas. Do I need to do anything with the seeds or do I just plant them and hope for the best. Any advice would be welcome I love sweet peas but never attempted to grow them from seed.

i had these in baskets a few years ago, they were lovely. i grew them in pots in a cold frame the put them in the baskets. water well once planted out and keep dead heading. seed needs nicking or rubbing with sand paper just to help them germinate. enjoy them Gillb.
