What is this? Identification needed please.

These black fungus-like things have popped up in a damp spot under some ferns. Would like to know what they might be?

I had to look at the photo coz I wondered if it might be Heuchera 'Obsidian'. It is a near black leaf. It is also a perennial, height of 45cm, spread 30cm flowers in june/july. I'd "froogle" it and see if it looks like what peeps are selling........

It's not heuchera 'Obsidian' - I grow it and it looks nothing like that
