Does somebody know the rose "Blue Wonder"? It should be edelrose, but as far as I know there doesn´t exist blue variety of rose.

OK. Thank you very much, Bamboo. I appreciate your comment, as I did not find any rose under this name on google, but bought the rose with this name. So far, we will see next summer. Maybe, it will be really a wonder or surpise, lol.

I found it on Google, even found two pictures of it, which is how I know what colour it is... I searched for 'rose blue wonder'.

Good morning, Bamboo. I searched as well, but one statement is about floribunda "Blue Yonder", that isn´t the one I bought. Then I found "Wild Blue Wonder", a grandiflora. But statement on my box says that it is edelrose. So I do not know.

Okay, the terminology is confusing - different terms to describe roses being used in different countries. Edelrose just means floribunda - grandiflora roses are simply floribundas with HT type flowers, or loosely HT type flowers held in sprays, often taller bushes, around 5 feet. And the name of this one does appear to be Wild Blue Wonder... does your label give height information and whether the plant is repeat flowering, etc?

Thank you very much for explanation. No, unfortunately the box said only that it will be around 120 cm high rose, should be on a full sun, that is all.

Well, that equates to about 4 feet - perhaps a little short for what's sometimes known as a 'grandiflora' rose, but not impossible, so it might actually be Wild Blue Wonder. Looks like you should plant it and wait and see - and then post a photo when its grown and in flower, lol!

OK, lol. I will share that miracle with you. Just yesterday I have got a message from The Slovak Rose Society that this rose is for sure not blue. So we will see...

Well, being an old cynic, I suspect it's about as likely to be blue as I am to wake up 30 years old again tomorrow...

You never know, you never know...

I looked at the link - but it just looks like Blue Moon to me...

Yes, you are right, there is Blue Moon which you mentioned previously. Seems like lavender blue to me. There are some others. I like them. So waiting inpatiently how will look like my rose. It is like pregnancy. Waiting 9 months, my goodness :)

Waiting nine months, yes, but without the agony at the end, fortunately...

Oh, yes :))) Only nine months of joyful expectation :)

Bamboo, this is for you :) Just blooming.

Unless it looks bluer in real life, its distinctly lilac - but a nice colour nonetheless.

In real life it looks like here. It fits with its colour among other flowers in the flowerbed :))) Doesn´t matter it is not navy blue :))

You are absolutely right, Katarina, blue does not exist in the spectrum for roses. The closest is probably Blue Moon, which is a sort of wishy washy, faded lavender colour (not even a nice colour). Blue Wonder is, by my standards pink with slight lavender tones.
