I am moving my compost bin. Would it be ok sat on concrete ?

Not really - putting on soil is a good idea to enable free access to bacteria and worms, etc., to help break down the heap, and for drainage. Some people do put them on hard surfaces though, don't know how well it works.

The short answer is 'no' for the reasons bamboo has given and especially as there will be liquid which leaches out of the compost - where will it go if the bin is sitting on concrete?

If the only alternative is concrete then it will suffice.

I move my green plastic compost bins all over the place between emptyings, does the ground a lot of good,& even if one of them appears in back of border,or between shrubs it still doesnt seem out of place. It's as much part of the garden as the plants that grow there.

Me too Pajo, but I don't place them on concrete for obvious reasons.

We've one we move around (between our different gardens we have a total of 5 plus a tumbler bin). Bulba moves the tumbler to a convenient spot...

Pajo agree you can disguise a green compost bin!
