My boyfriend has planted quite alot of bulbs using peat free compost. We ran out at the weekend and picked up a bag of multipurpose by mistake and has now planted some more bulbs with the normal compost. Will this affect the bulbs growing at all? Is there a difference?

Your bulbs will be fine. Pretty much all plants at garden centres will be planted in peat based composts.

Peat free compost is an eco-friendly form of multi-purpose as is made from recycled waste that would normally end up in a landfill site. Peat beds aren't destroyed in making this compost either.

Yes, multipurpose compost has similar growing qualities to peat free compost but is less environmentally friendly. Your bulbs should be fine.
