I have a beauatiful salmon pink jueponica that has fruit in the autumn but, growing the middle of it is a russian vine. how can i get rid of the pest. do dig everything up and start again? Hlep!!

You could try painting the Russian Vine (whilst still in leaf) with glyphosphate mixed with wallpaper paste to create a gel but the safest way would be to dig the whole lot up when the Chaenomeles Japonica - Japanese flowering quince has become dormant.
