YES...this is a classic example of Iris stylosa
( Unguiculares Beardless Iris ). It grows well on clay or chalk. Blooms around now (Mar/Apr). Very hardy as it will pop up through the snow and bloom in sub zero temps. I exported some from Hampshire to the Bordeaux area of France. Makes good border edging and self propagates.
