once the lucifer has flowered and died off then new leaves have started to grow do you cut off the old leaves or jsut leave it looking untidy as it does?

I usually wait until I can see the new shoots appearing, then pull off the old leaves! Sure does tidy things up!
I am not so careful with the 'ordinary' Crocosmias, I pull their leaves off in the winter/early spring when I'm tidying the beds up - They are a bit thuggish, so it doesn't matter to me if I pull some up with the leaves! ;-)
