Thank you everyone for your good advice re bonfire sites.
I feel more comfortable about the problem now.
I do put the ash from my incinerator onto the Onion Bed.
Bought 5 more Raspberry Canes yesterday, they are Autumn Fruiting ones, have plenty of compost to mulch them with if we get another drought next year.

I don't remember your original question - but just to say, don't put the ash on the raspberries unless your soil is acid, as it can raise the pH and rasps like it acid. Hope you get good results from your autumn fruiters - mine usually do better than the summer ones for some reason.
