How much water do they need?

I have just planted a 1 gallon cordilyne and can't seem to find any guidance on watering. Please help

treat it as you would a tree and water it frequently for the first year

i am assuming that you planted it in the ground, you dont say where you live but i would be tempted to water very often until it gets its feet moving, then you can allow it to fend for itself.
