what is this flower?

i found this flower in the fields near my home in southen spain. we are 640 meters above sea level in the mountains. we do have wild orcids here but none like this. This looks more like an iris. many are growing and we did not have them last spring which was my first spring here. we had very high rain fell this winter. any ideas anyone?

Actualy, Helen, I think it is an orchid. We saw this a few years ago in the Andelucian hills but I am hanged if I can remember its name. Somewhere I have a slide of it, I will try and find it soon. However, it is beautiful.

I would have said an Iris too, but other than that, I couldn't tell you. Have you tried typing wild iris in ask.com, google etc?
