Having bought plug plants for the first time and are nursing them like babies!! As some have buds, do I nip those off as its only April? Also some of the leaves have faded to a lighter green on others. We spray them every day and water every few days. When the weather is warm, we lift them outside for a few hours in the sun. Advice very much appreciated from those of you who are more experienced. Thanks. Norah

No need to deflower your Busy Lizzies, they may need a feed with Miracle grow, very weak solution in your watering can or spray.

mine are budding too and i am pleased as it will allow me to select the colours i want for specific places. they prefer a slightly shady aspect , at least that is how they do best in my garden. the wall mangers at the front dont get any full sun after 9.30 in the morning. they do very well in those but not on the back wall as this part of the house gets sun from about 11.30 i the morning until it drops behind the tree shadows.

Re the ones with lighter coloured leaves - it may be because those plants will have white flowers. The ones with reddish stems will have darker coloured flowers. All quite normal :-)

How do I say thanks?
