Help, I have a Hakonechloa macro Alboaurea which i purchased last year after seeing a magnificent picture of one in a copy of Gardeners World, I have planted it in a tall ali baba style pot as on the label it said suitable in patio containers, and it was doing very well but it has now turned completely brown and looks dead does this happen in the winter? as no other info on label, your expertise would be appreciated.

Yes, it does do this - remove all the dead growth in spring, as growth begins. It usually just pulls off.

Well it is a deciduous grass so it naturally does die down over winter. Wait and see.
