i have my grandmother plant its more then 20 yrs old and not doing so well, what can i do to help it out. any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Have you done the basics like re-pot it, added fresh compost, kept it well watered and feed etc?
20 years is good going, you should also try and take some cuttings, very easy, just take a stem cutting and put it in water to root. I would do that as an insurance.

I would take a cutting or two/three and then you can re-generate this plant into new and fresh potting compost to give it a new lease of life.

my mom got a hold of it and almost coffee it to death, years ago . it has been repoted over the years, after it came back it no more then 10 leaves, now it has started to fail again, i tried putting it in water to root, it started to disolve. so i have repot. and it is a swiss cheese not the open leave

What is a Grandmother plant? I haven't heard of this one.
