ivy nightmare

i am tirelessly working to clear by backgarden from the forest that seems to have settled there but one thing that will not budge is the ivy-i keep cutting it back but its trying to take over my house by coming in the bedroom window.i think the roots are in next doors garden,but the rest grows my way-how can i kill it

Take care removing from the wall as you can actually damage the bricks. Years ago we foolishly let ivy establish itself on the stone wall of our cottage - it was a heck of a job to get rid of it... cutting it back at ground level, leaving the ivy to die and then taking off - but the little suckers clung like mad.

I would trace the ivy stems are far back to the neighbours as you can. Cut each one and wait for the ivy to die. Then just pull off the brickwork.
Sorry, I'm an organic gardener, I don't know of any chemicals that will do the job quicker.
