How many of my friends out there have noticed that the montana ruebens (clematis), have been dying off this season. i know its early but I've lost a couple all ready. Speaking to some friends recently i discovered that they to have lost some very established plants as well. Do you think there is some disease in the clematis family this year ?.Or was it the bad frosts we had this winter. what do you good people think ?.

Mine is full of bud too. Did your soil get waterlogged? a lot of people in this area lost lots of plants in the floods of 2007. they are still losing plants due to the wet. obviously those plants that survived the floods were severly stressed so the extra wet/cold have seen off others.
