Has anyone started to prune their roses. It has been snowing here so I suppose I must wait until the end of February?

Very good advice here from Bamboo..although I have transplanted over 20 roses recently..January...in doing so, I have had to prune a few prior to the move, so far they have all settled in nicely and providing new shoots, to me that's a sign that they have not been hurt by the move, but then it also may depend of where you live.

Agree - I usually do mine early march, regardless of the weather. They will just get straggly if you leave it longer, and frosted with die back if you do it sooner. Once the sap is up and rising, frost die back is reduced.

I agree, doing it now leaves the newly cut stems liable to frost damage and then you would have to go over them again. I would wait until early March.

Thank you everyone for your advice.

You should wait till the last week of February anyway - first week of March if you're up north. Do it then, regardless of the weather, even if its freezing.
