when can I re-pot a salix caprea pendula and bring it back in the house to enjoy?

Agree with Bulbaholic above - this is an outside plant, not meant for indoors, and won't like being inside at all.

Thank you for causing me to do more research, Rferrari. S.c. pendula is the female form of the Kilmarnock Willow, so they are really the same tree. Pendula was first discovered on the banks of the River Ayr (SW Scotland) in the 1850's and brought into cultivation. It still prefers a cool, moist environment and is not well suited for indoors. This time of year is as good as any to re-pot it.

Thanks for that. My research did not clarify that interesting point. The pendula we brought home is approx 18" tall and was sold in a pot at Trader Joes. It is blooming beautifully. Read up on the species and even though it is going outside, our hope was to bring it back in next fall in a larger pot to enjoy another bloom cycle next winter. Hence, my original question.

This is what we would call the 'Kilmarnock Willow'. It is normally used as a garden tree and I would have thought that the house would be much too warm and dry for it.
