Acer Trompenburg is this a fast growing maple?
Planted a 2ft one last March by October it was 5ft....I do like it but getting a bit worried by the eventuall size.
Checked it yesterday no sign of die back looks ready to go again...... Shall i prune it to slow it down?

If it is Acer palmatum 'Trompenburg' its eventual height and spread is about 4 metres but it takes 10 years plus to reach that. I wouldn't prune right now as the sap will already be up and you are going to cut off this years leaves.
