if they were bought like this they will be fine. if you get shoots from below the grfat point remove them as they will be a different variety and inappropriate for your original choice.

I agree, most new growth below the graft on the apple tree or any fruit tree tend to be new shoots from the 'original plant' I would tend to treat as 'surplus growth' that should be cut off.
