tomatos

My small tomato plants are growing fine in the greenhouse and kitchen window , I normally put a few in growbags and I will do this as usual , I will put some in pots for putting outside later on in the year. What is the perfect size pot for toms and what is the best type of soil or mixture for a pot, as I would like to try some different approaches this year.

Hi Mac,
I use the bucket sized tomato pots and i usually use growbag compost in them and then feed as normal with tomato food once the first fruits have set. If you look at my daughters cabbage blog they are the size of pot i use.
I also have some with the bottoms cut out and they are sunk into the soil of the greenhouse again toms planted into growbag mixture.
hope this helps.
