They look like some form of aphid to me. Aphids are sap suckers and also pass on virus diseases between plants. You should be using an approprate insecticide on them. I cannot identify the specific aphid as they are unlikely to be anything I am familiar with in Scotland.

Many people on here recommend using a garlic spray. You should find it if you click on G at the bottom of the page.

Garlic spray works best as a preventative. To remove an established infestation, my favorite organic method is an organic liquid soap, mixed in water, just enough soap to make the solution feel slippery. Sprayed on the aphids, it removes their proective wax coat, and allows them to dry out--often within hours. Thorough coverage is the key, though--any aphids that are missed by the spray will survive and multiply within a week. Natural predators, such as ladybird beetles, green lacewings, and parasitoid wasps, can also be very useful.

If you use an organic spray, Carohit, make sure that it is fresh. (I am not sure aboout my chemistry for this next bit and stand to be corrected.) Organic sprays tend to be soap based and as the soap solution ages it turns to a weak acid. I realised this after using an old organic insecticide on alpine plants in the greenhouse and appearing to burn them. A homemade soap spray, such as Tugbrethil describes, is probably just as good and can be made fresh. Whilst I consider myself to be 95% organic I now use Pravdo Bug Spray on ornamental plants in the greenhouse and in the home. I don't use it outdoors or on food crops.

Thank you Tugbrethil for saying garlic works best as a preventative. Must try to get in there before they do this year!
