Shaded Veg Plot

Hi All - Well, I've done it again; thought everything through except for one *teensy* point ...
I've laid a veg bed just outside the kitchen door - without considering the fact that it only gets sun during the main part of the summer, and then only from about 1pm to 5pm! (Faces NW, blast it!!) Most veg, I think, would want a smidgin more sun than that. Does anyone have any brilliant ideas about what I can grow in such a shady spot? Ideally, I'd like to be able to use it all year. It's only about 1.5m square.
