Hi. I have a well established Cordaline, see picture. It towers to about 20Ft.+ Over the past year it has sprouted out strongly around the base of the trunk. Should I leave this growth , cut it off or what?. what might iy`s future be with either/both of these options, please. Thanks for your time.

If you wanted to reduce the height, you could take the whole thing down to where the new growth is and it would grow again. However, assuming you don't want to do that, I'd just remove the growth - it will eventually produce stems, and you may not want that extra width of growth in that space.

Great stuff and many thanks for your response. Now I know I will not harm my Cordaline I will remove the growth from the base. Is there a good or not good time to carry this out, please ? ...and thanks again.

No, doesn't matter, you can do it now. You might find it consistently produces new growth at the base though.

How do I say thanks?
