Can ceanothus survive in partial shade? My wall is only sunny part of the day.
Thank you for your advice which was very helpful.

Depends on what 'part of the day' means. If its just 2 hours of sunlight first thing in the morning, it won't be enough. If its half a day's worth, should be fine. It won't necessarily kill the plant without enough sun, but it will mean it gropes towards a brighter spot, producing an ugly misshapen form of growth with reduced flowering.

Welcome to Goy Pansypots. I have a ceanothus in partial shade. It is fine. Sometimes the top gets burned by the wind but apart from that I have had no problems with it.
