Architectural plants such as Palms, ferns, olives and Junipers. Lots of terracotta pots - clipped box looks great and give the med feel. Seating area with clean lines - I would add chairs and in built seats so you can follow the sun. Go for light tones of yellow and blue mixed with deep pink and purple but kept to a minimum and it will look good against the greens of the architectural plants.
