I planted a Prunus cerasifera 'Atropurpurea' 11 years ago and although the tree has always looked very healthy the amount of blossom has dwindled over the years. This year there are about 10 clusters of flowers on what is now quite a large tree. Any ideas why this is? The photo was taken last year.

Tugbrethil it is in full sun and not shaded by other trees but I have to admit I have never fed it. Bearing in mind that half the roots are under the lawn and the rest go out into the field behind what would you recommend as a good feed?

Lovely photo though!

Thanks Steragram, the whole tree looked like that for the first five years.

Probably something simple and slow, Annella, such as growmore.

Is a larger shade tree shading the plum more and more over the years? Also, what have you been feeding it?
