I planted a golden leaved saxifrage ,the next dayit hadbeen pulled to pieces, have covered it now with netting. Could this be pigeons or maybe a hedgehog. Never known it before.

Oh. This sounds like my problem! I have tracked my assailant to blackbirds! Yes, honestly! I just can't grow Saxifage. I am having one last 'go' in a different part of the garden - I hope the blackbirds didn't see me sneaking it in, lol.
