I have another mystery plant that was given to me. It likes the shade and grows about 2 feet tall, and is in bloom now. Please, does anyone know what it is?

Nooo, I'm not, Pamg - I knew I'd seen a picture of this, and it turned out it was in my RHS Encyclopaedia... resembles Phygelius in flower form, but the leaves weren't right for that, nor the size. Another few years and I won't remember me own name, never mind a picture...

You ARE amazing!
I googled it and it turns out that I have saved a photo of one in my Flickr favourites, but I didn't remember!

I should have been a researcher or a private eye, I like to dig out information!!

Me too - just can't remember it!!

I've been very lucky, had a brain like a sponge, soaked up info and had good recall. Not so good now though, its the recall that's the problem, blasted filing clerk can't find the right file quick enough any more (that's my way of saying too many neurons have died off so the pathway out is long and convoluted, or might even be blocked, lol) My ex husband's the same, we spend hours when watching telly saying things like oh look, that's, erm, so and so, you know, the bloke who was in that programme, oh what was it, and before that he was in that other thing ... its enough to drive you bonkers.

Its when you meet someone,..... you,d know exactly who it is if you only could remember their name.......

With apologies to Wylie... we're off topic here, sorry. But yes, Pam,it even has a name, this problem of not remembering names - it's called nominal aphasia, just in case you're interested. First stages of brain deterioration, but starts surprisingly early in most people - usually around the forties, but becomes more noticeable as time goes by.

I gave up playing the piano because it became impossible to memorize those long, fast sections that couldn't be played any other way :( But then I found gardening :)

Remembering plant names must be good for us......even if we have to resort to the book!

It's just occurred to me that I can remember 'nominal aphasia' easily, but not the names of most actors, even ones I know well....

How do I say thanks?
