Hooray for Freecycle!

Well, Freecycle came up trumps - an electric propagator was posted - and I was chosen to receive it! Now comes the question. Please could propagator users give me some information and hints as to its use? It has no instructions with it. I need to know how warm it may get as it has no thermostat, what can I use it for to make the best use of it etc. Any info would be gratefully received! P.S. Henry was interested, yes, those are his feet!

my propagator looks just like this so here are my tips... once seeds are sown keep it in a bright position but not direct sunshine as seedlings may become too hot and spindly. Slide open the ventilators bit by bit until fully open within a week. You can use pots or seed trays or even direct into the propagator but remove the matting if doing the latter and water cautiously. you will get condensation every day and will need to wipe this away i just give it a shake. Water using the inlet in the corner to avoid disturbing the plants. The matting when wet will spread the heat more evenly, increase humidity and extend the watering interval. If you want to raise the compost temperature you can remove this matting! As far as temperature goes i am not sure what it goes up to but it can be regulated by the positioning and ventilation. You can put a garden thermometer in if you wish. All my veg and flower seeds have germinated in record time and have become strong healthy plants. This is a fantastic addition to your garden I wouldn't be without mine!
