Hello
I have a pampas grass which is completely rotted and damp through its core, I have stripped away all foilage right down to its base, can this be saved and have I done the right thing?

Certainly removing all foliage back to the central stump, including the flowered stems is the right thing to do at this time of year. Rake out the centre of the stump though, pull out any and all loose rubbish or whatever as well, if you didn't do that. Now all you can do is wait and see if it grows.
