This shrub is currently about 1 metre high and most stems have an arrangement of seven leaves at their ends. The remaining stems have a flower bud. i have acidic, clay soil where this is located. Is it one of the azalea or rhododendron family? Thanks in anticipation jimmee.

Might be a Magnolia. Show a picture of the flower when buds open and all should be made clear.
